The first three images are from the “1000 Shadows” installation work of artist Herbert Baglione (via Ghostly Shadow Art in an Abandoned Mental Hospital). The next three are from Baglione’s most recent exhibit “Obituary” at Mexico City’s FIFTY2MX Gallery.
The “1000 Shadows” pictures remind me of the Season 2 X-Files episode, “Excelsis Dei” where Mulder and Scully investigate a nurse’s claim of rape by a resident of a nursing home (named “Excelsis Dei”). The duo learn that the patients are guinea pigs in a clinical trial for an Alzheimer’s medication (only to have it revealed that a Malaysian orderly is giving them mushrooms on the side that are actually producing the positive/negative effects). But whether the nurse was attacked by a resident high on a combination of drugs or by the angry ghosts of the home itself … well, that’s left to the viewer to decide. One of the patients, in a more lucid state, paints a mural on the wall of the common room that hints at the supernatural forces lurking inside the facility. A screenshot of that mural is the final image above. Wish I knew who was hired as the artist for that piece.
